Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Mohamed Amine Hadj Said said Sunday night in Tlemcen, his ministry has set aside more than 130 plates land for investment in tourism across the country.
This major operation, registered under the provisions taken by the Ministry to encourage investment and redevelopment of several areas in tourist destinations of excellence, aims to create 30,000 new beds, according to the minister who chaired a meeting of work at the end of his inspection visit to the province of Tlemcen in the presence of local authorities and investors.
These new structures, which will provide 2,000 beds for the wilaya of Tlemcen, contribute to the creation of 15,000 jobs permanent jobs across the country.
Furthermore, the Minister stressed that we should not copy the models but to consider the nature of each area and its specific explaining that tourism investment in urban areas differs from that in rural or coastal areas.
After recalling the objectives of the Tourism Development Scheme (SDAT) for 2015 on the establishment of tourist centers of excellence, the ministry said Tlemcen which has assets is not promoted to the rank of destination tourist destination adding that meets international standards and objective considerations.
Mr. Hadj Said then listened to the concerns of investors who have shown their willingness to promote the sector and transform the province of Tlemcen in tourist center of excellence and a must destination starting from its strengths to foster the development of historical tourism, mountain spa and resort.
Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts inspected during this visit, several projects in its industry and has opened two hotels made in the context of private investment.
