Definition of ZET:
Any area or tract of territory possessing qualities or natural, cultural, human and creative features that promote tourism, suitable for the establishment and development of a tourism infrastructure that can be exploited for the development of at least one if not more profitable forms of tourism.

Creation and distribution of ZET
The Algeria totaled 205 ZET defined, reported and classified according to three executive orders:
- ZET 174 from the Executive Decree No. 88-232 of 05-11-1988 (including 02 ZET were downgraded by Executive Decree No. 04/398 of December 6, 2004).
- 02 ZET by Executive Decree No. 09-226 of 29-06-2009. -31 ZET from the Executive Decree No. 10-131 of 29-04-2010.
These ZET occupy a total area of about 53,132.63 ha, they are spread across the country as follows:

30 ZET Sahara.
11 climate ZET.
09 ZET hot.
Tourist centers of excellence
The tourist center is a combination of a given geographical area tourist villages of Excellence (accommodation and leisure facilities) and tourist activities and sightseeing tours in synergy with a land development project.
It responds to the market demand and must have sufficient autonomy to be able to shine nationally and / or internationally.
The seven Tourist Centres of Excellence are:
1) The Tourist Pole Northeast Excellence
2) Tourist Centre of Excellence North Centre
3) The Tourism Cluster of Excellence Northwest
4) The Tourist Pole South East Excellence (oasis)
5) The Tourist Pole South West Excellence (Tuat Gourara)
6) Tourism Cluster of Excellence Grand Sud (Tassili Ajjer)
7) The Grand Tourist Centre of Excellence (Ahaggar)
1 The tourist hub northeast of excellence:
Of six wilayas namely: Skikda, Guelma, Annaba, El Tarf, Souk Ahras and Tébessa.
It is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean Sea, to the east by Tunisia to the west by the wilaya of Setif, Batna Bejaia and south by the provinces of Oum El Bouagui and Tunisia.
This division covers an area of about 30,347 km2 and has an estimated population of approximately 3,612,000.

2 The tourist center of excellence North Centre:
The tourist center of excellence North Centre has ten wilaya namely: Algiers, Tipaza, Blida, Boumerdes, Chlef, Ain Defla, Medea, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia. It is characterized by its central position and a Mediterranean coastline stretching over 615 km, or 51% of the Algerian coast. The tourist center of excellence NORTHWEST consists of seven wilaya: Oran, Ain Témouchent, Tlemcen, Mostaganem, Mascara, Sidi Bel Abbes and Relizane

The tourist center of excellence "SOUTHEAST" 'oasis' has three wilaya namely Ghardaia, and El Oued Biskra.
This is limited to the north by Laghouat, Djelfa M'sila, Batna, Khenchla Tébessa and to the east by Libya, in the west by the provinces of Adrar and El Bayadh and south by the provinces of Illizi and Tamanrasset
This division covers an area of about 160,000 square kilometers and has an estimated 1.5 million inhabitants.

5 The tourist center of excellence Southwest "Twat-Gourara"

6 The Deep South tourist hub of excellence "Tassili Ajjer"
The tourist center of excellence Deep South "Tassili Ajjer" essentially within the province of Illizi, it is limited: to the north by Ouargla and Ghardaia, in the east by Libya, in the west by Tamanrasset to the south by Niger and Mali.
