MASCARA - National exhibition of basketry, opened Sunday night at the craft house Mascara, is marked by the participation of 42 artisans from 14 provinces of the country.
The number at the opening of this exhibition, chaired by the Wali of Mascara public was interested by exhibits (baskets and utensils alfa) by craftsmen and representatives of craft associations and chambers of crafts.
At the same time, craftspeople have asked the authorities to give them wilaya of agricultural land for the planting of willow used in basket making.
It is a rare commodity in the local market since the only specialized in this culture Ferdjioua (Mila) nursery is stopped.
This request was approved by the authorities Mascara especially since the development of handicraft helps the promotion of tourism "destination Algeria."
Furthermore, ex-officials of the Ministry of Tourism and the direction of the sector of the province and artisans were honored on this occasion.
